Room Refurbishment in Addlestone – Complete Bedroom Transformation

Project Overview

This room refurbishment in Addlestone transformed a dated bedroom into a bright, modern space that now matches the standard of the rest of the property. The room was intentionally left until the final phase of a larger house refurbishment project, allowing all previous works throughout the home to be completed first.

The project included electrical upgrades, plastering, carpentry, flooring and decoration. Particular attention was required to correct an incorrectly installed pocket door, accommodate the new floor height and reinstate existing architectural details while achieving a clean, modern finish throughout.

Before the Refurbishment

Bedroom Before

Outdated bedroom before refurbishment in Addlestone with old flooring, wallpaper and pendant ceiling light.

Bedroom After

Completed bedroom refurbishment in Addlestone with LED spotlights, new laminate flooring and freshly decorated walls.

The Challenge

Although relatively small, this room required the coordination of several trades to achieve the desired finish. The existing room contained dated finishes, wallpaper, lining paper and an incorrectly installed pocket door that no longer operated correctly.

The installation of a new floor also affected the door clearance, requiring the door to be trimmed and adjusted. Existing architraves had to be carefully removed to gain access before being reinstated once the repairs were complete.

Our Solution

The refurbishment began with the installation of new recessed LED spotlights to modernise the lighting layout and create a cleaner ceiling appearance.

Once the electrical work was completed, all wallpaper, lining paper and unnecessary timber trims were removed. The walls and ceiling were then fully replastered to provide a smooth surface ready for decoration.

The pocket door was repaired and adjusted to operate correctly with the new floor level. After decorating the walls and ceiling, the architraves were reinstalled, new laminate flooring and underlay were fitted, and new skirting boards were installed and painted to complete the transformation.

The Result

The finished bedroom now complements the rest of the refurbished property and provides a clean, modern and low-maintenance living space. The combination of smooth plastered walls, modern lighting, new flooring and crisp woodwork has completely transformed the room from an outdated space into a bright and contemporary bedroom.

Part of a Larger Addlestone Refurbishment Project

This bedroom refurbishment formed part of a wider property improvement project in Addlestone, Surrey. While this room was completed as a standalone phase, it followed extensive refurbishment works carried out throughout the rest of the property.

The overall project included decorating multiple rooms, upgrading finishes, improving functionality and creating a more consistent appearance throughout the home. Completing this bedroom as the final stage ensured the entire property achieved the same high standard of finish.
